Requirements

  • The internship will be at Bio-Techne’s Austin, Texas office and requires being on-site.
  • You must be enrolled as a student pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a scientific- or business-related field with relevant exposure to and aptitude for both.
  • You must have completed at least your junior year of college.
  • Preference will be given to students in graduate programs, such as Ph.D. or MBA degree programs, and those with previous experience in a biotechnology work setting.
  • You must be able to work full-time for the duration of the summer internship.
  • Experience Qualifications:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related programs for analyzing, summarizing, and presenting ideas, informational overviews, and data
  • Experience in using databases, the scientific literature, and market analysis tools to gather and interpret relevant information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a keen interest in interdisciplinary topics and thinking
  • A penchant for learning new technologies and scientific concepts quickly, coupled with a systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving

Responsibilities

  • Research market and technology resources to identify trends and opportunities across the life sciences and diagnostics landscape, focusing on interdisciplinary technology applications.
  • Prepare summaries of the scientific literature and market reports that inform the potential and direction of R&D projects and programs.
  • Compile and synthesize R&D technologies and progress, facilitating communication and ideation across departments and teams.
  • Assist in collecting and organizing data that support new and emerging tools and processes and enhance cross-divisional collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Technology Officer, including preparing presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
