  • This internship is an exceptional position for a business-minded and scientifically astute strategic thinker to explore market and technical opportunities in the biotechnology industry. In this role, you will work closely with Bio-Techne’s Chief Technology Officer to research and analyze markets and applications for life science and diagnostic products and help support processes that bring them to life. Key activities include helping to bridge the gap between technology spaces, identifying emerging applications, and realizing innovative programs and products by synergizing market and scientific information with company strategy and roadmaps.
  • This internship is like no other: you will gain an unprecedented, in-the-trenches view of the R&D process and technology strategy and help identify and shape new ideas and products within an S&P 500 biotech company.

Requirements

  • The internship will be at Bio-Techne’s Austin, Texas office and requires being on-site.
  • You must be enrolled as a student pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a scientific- or business-related field with relevant exposure to and aptitude for both.
  • You must have completed at least your junior year of college.
  • Preference will be given to students in graduate programs, such as Ph.D. or MBA degree programs, and those with previous experience in a biotechnology work setting.
  • You must be able to work full-time for the duration of the summer internship.
  • Experience Qualifications:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related programs for analyzing, summarizing, and presenting ideas, informational overviews, and data
  • Experience in using databases, the scientific literature, and market analysis tools to gather and interpret relevant information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a keen interest in interdisciplinary topics and thinking

  • Research market and technology resources to identify trends and opportunities across the life sciences and diagnostics landscape, focusing on interdisciplinary technology applications.
  • Prepare summaries of the scientific literature and market reports that inform the potential and direction of R&D projects and programs.
  • Compile and synthesize R&D technologies and progress, facilitating communication and ideation across departments and teams.
  • Assist in collecting and organizing data that support new and emerging tools and processes and enhance cross-divisional collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Technology Officer, including preparing presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
