Requirements

  • Education/Knowledge/Skills:
  • Applicants should be undergraduate students in their junior or senior year or graduate students pursuing a degree in communications, public policy, urban policy, or related fields. Our most successful interns possess the following: excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to listen for and clearly document themes and key takeaways, strong attention to detail, ability to work in fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines, and the capacity to perform well in team and individual settings. Fluency in written and spoken English and proficiency with Microsoft Office required.

  • This internship requires you to be located in the U.S. for the duration of the internship.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation is required for interning at Brookings.

Responsibilities

  • The engagement intern will support efforts to engage local leaders through various channels—ranging from targeted post-publication outreach to peer-learning networks—designed to both inform and encourage the adoption of research, policy ideas, and actionable solutions. They will be tasked with supporting the development and execution of both in-person and virtual convenings with local leaders and other external stakeholders as well as providing administrative support on special projects and outreach strategies.
