What is the duration of the Fall 2025 Partial Hospitalization Internship?
The internship is designed to last for a full year, starting in Fall 2025.
What are the required working hours for this internship?
Interns need to be available for 24 hours a week, specifically three days a week from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
What qualifications are necessary to apply for this internship?
Applicants should be 2nd year Master's students or those on their 2nd internship (or equivalent). 1st year Master's students with some experience may also be considered.
Is there an orientation session for interns?
Yes, there will be an orientation session, with the date to be announced.
Are interns allowed to take vacation during the internship?
Yes, interns can take up to 4 weeks of vacation during the course of the year, but all dates need to be approved by the Director to avoid overlap with other interns.
What type of supervision will interns receive?
Interns will receive weekly supervision with an LMHC, and there will also be opportunities for additional on-the-spot supervision by supervisors and other clinicians.
What topics are covered in the in-services provided to interns?
In-services cover various topics, including legal issues in mental health settings, ethical considerations, resume writing, job search strategies, and more.
What is the policy regarding holidays for interns?
The PHP only closes for major holiday days, and while interns may request time off around these holidays, it is not guaranteed.
Are there any background checks required for applicants?
Yes, candidates must pass a CORI check and a drug test, as well as meet other pre-employment documentation requirements.
What should applicants do if they suspect a fraudulent job posting?
If applicants suspect a fraudulent job posting or email, they should report their concerns to appropriate law enforcement and refer to legitimate UHS career websites to verify job opportunities.
