Who is eligible for this internship?
Internships are open to current students enrolled at a Historically Black College & University (HBCU) and recent graduates of HBCUs who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.
What kind of tasks will the intern be responsible for?
The intern will learn and contribute to operations for 99pi’s upcoming weekly episodes, assist with production by researching sources, sending booking requests, preparing background research, looking for archival materials, cutting tape, etc. They will also help with supplemental materials for the website, posting to social media, participate in team meetings, and perform other duties as required.
What experience is preferred for this internship?
Prior internship or working experience in podcasting/audio is preferred. Experience with digital media systems and audio editing software is a plus.
What skills are required for this internship?
Skills required include familiarity with Google Suite, strong storytelling abilities, flexibility, excellent communication and time management, attention to detail, adherence to journalistic standards and ethics, organization, and responsiveness to feedback.
What is the duration of the internship?
The internship is part-time and open to students graduating by September 2026 or recent graduates within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.
