Requirements

  • A current 2nd, 3rd or penultimate year University of Edinburgh undergraduate student.
  • Pro-active approach to seeking out information, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, take initiative and find proactive solutions
  • Ability to work unsupervised and multitask effectively.
  • Good data analysis skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Excel.
  • Desirable:
  • Interest and knowledge of accountancy.
  • Interest in business strategy.
  • Interest in financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting Finance colleagues with month / year end processes
  • Manipulation of large data sets in Excel and high-level reconciliations 30%;
  • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigating differences 20%;
  • Assisting with production of financial and written reports 20%;
  • Other ad-hoc requests 30%
  • The role will involve collaboration with Finance colleagues at various levels across the University.
