  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, completion of at least 2 years of college with an emphasis in accounting or finance. Must be currently enrolled in college. Experience in the equine industry and/or horse racing a plus.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Kentucky Horse Racing Commission License. Provided to employee upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Enter miscellaneous cash deposits into accounting system.
  • Scan vendor invoices and attach to payment vouchers.
  • Pull and copy invoices for fixed assets and sales/use taxes monthly.
  • Assist purchasing manager in obtaining quotes and proposals from vendors.
  • Contacting customers to obtain account information required for 1099 reporting.
  • Assist with preparing written documentation of accounting processes and procedures.
  • Assisting Senior Racing Accountant with obtaining and inputting racing revenues and expenses and preparing daily analysis of race day operations.
