Requirements

  • Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in a masters or PHD degree in electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with a graduation date of December 2024 or later.
  • Must be available to work full-time (40 hours a week) over summer.
  • Basic understanding of structural dynamics and fluid dynamics concepts
  • Ability to work quickly and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment as part of a team or individually.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with peers and leadership.
  • Basic understanding of advanced Engineering Mathematics or basic coursework in the field of dynamics.
  • Graduate level course work in the fields of structural dynamics, stress analysis, and compressible aerodynamics.
  • Must be a US citizen, or national, current US permanent resident holder or a protected individual as defined 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) or be able to obtain the required authorization from either the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Responsibilities

  • We are seeking an Aeroelasticity Engineering Intern. This position is in Tustin, CA. The Flight Sciences team is looking for an intern who must be enthusiastic with high energy and have a strong willingness to learn advanced aeroelasticity concepts. The candidate will support the engineering for the suborbital spaceplanes’ aeroelasticity analysis and planning for all phases of flight. As an intern, you will be working in the Flight Sciences team, which is comprised of Thermal, Loads, Aerodynamics, Aeroelasticity, and Mass Properties groups for the suborbital spaceplane Spaceship
