What is the purpose of the Foreign Pharmacy Grad - International Pharmacy Intern role?
The purpose of this role is to provide Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduates the opportunity to complete required US Internship hours, build upon their pharmacy education, and develop their knowledge, skills, and abilities under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
What qualifications are required to apply for this position?
Applicants must have a Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent Pharmacist degree from a Non-US accredited school of pharmacy, an active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the position is located, and successful completion of FPGEE and TOEFL.
What are the primary duties of this role?
Primary duties include providing customer service, ensuring regulatory compliance, processing prescriptions, supporting pharmacy operations, and assisting with patient counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
How long do I have to complete the required US Internship hours?
Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduates are required to successfully complete their internship within 18 months of starting the program.
What happens if I do not obtain Pharmacist licensure within the specified timeframe?
Failure to complete the required US Internship hours within 18 months or obtain Pharmacist licensure within 120 days will result in removal from the role and separation of employment.
Is prior pharmacy work experience required for this position?
No prior pharmacy work experience is required, although 0 to 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
