What is the main purpose of this internship position?
The main purpose of this internship position is to provide Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduates the opportunity to complete their required US Internship hours, enhancing their knowledge, skills, and abilities in a real-world pharmacy environment under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
What qualifications are required to apply for this internship?
To apply for this internship, candidates must have a Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent Pharmacist degree from a Non-US accredited school of pharmacy, as well as an active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the internship is located. They must also have successfully passed the FPGEE and TOEFL.
How long do I have to complete the internship?
Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduates are required to successfully complete their internship within 18 months.
What will happen if I do not obtain my Pharmacist licensure within the given time frame?
If you do not obtain your Pharmacist licensure within 120 days after completing the required US Internship hours, you will be removed from the role and face separation of employment.
What kind of tasks will I be responsible for during the internship?
As an intern, you will be responsible for various tasks including patient safety, regulatory compliance, customer service, pharmacy operations, and counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, as well as participating in leadership activities.
Is prior work experience required for this position?
No prior work experience is required; however, it is preferred that candidates have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
