What is the primary purpose of this internship program?
The internship program aims to help US Non-Accredited Foreign Graduates apply their pharmacy school education in real-world practice while completing the required US Internship hours to prepare for a Pharmacist role.
What qualifications do I need to apply for this position?
To apply, you must be a Foreign Graduate from a Non-US Accredited college or school of pharmacy and have passed the FPGEE and TOEFL exams. Additionally, you should possess or be in the process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
What are the essential functions of this role?
Essential functions include assisting with pharmacy operations, following Standard Operating Procedures, contributing to positive patient experiences, handling prescriptions, performing inventory tasks, and maintaining compliance with laws and regulations.
How long do I have to complete the required US Internship hours?
US Non-Accredited Foreign Graduates are required to complete their internship within 18 months of starting the program.
What happens if I do not obtain Pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe?
Failure to obtain Pharmacist licensure within 120 days of completing the required US Internship hours will result in separation of employment.
Is prior work experience necessary for this position?
While it is preferred, it is not strictly required. However, having 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is beneficial.
