Requirements

  • The ideal candidate for this position will bring a combination of the following skills and qualifications:
  • Completed at least 2 years of advanced education (college or tech school) in engineering (Mechanical /Industrial/Manufacturing) or business.
  • Good communication skills, adept in Excel, has had some exposure to continuous improvement/problem-solving methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CAD SW (SolidWorks) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • The Intern will conduct necessary time studies and assist in lean (continuous improvement) training -- both core to continuous improvement initiatives and automation implementation. The Intern could also assist in mechanical drawing generation/modification needed for automation systems. Your daily activities will include:
  • Conduct time studies and collect/develop other data that is necessary for understanding the current state of our manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in the execution of continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
  • Improve our lean training curriculum and assist in conducting lean training.
  • Assist the project manager with establishing agenda, conducting meetings, and establishing action items and timelines.
  • Mechanical Drawing update/modification.
  • Assisting in financial and project cost calculations.
