Requirements

  • A demonstrated interest in communications, writing, international affairs, or political science
  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment collaborating with a distributed team
  • Excellent written and oral communication and research skills
  • Entrepreneurial with strong critical thinking abilities
  • Organized and attentive to detail
  • Able to multi-task and approach assignments independently
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Available to work 25-40 hours per week
  • Fluency in Mandarin is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Monitor policies and news on topics related to China’s internal relations including trade and supply chain, investment restrictions, economic sanctions, data and cybersecurity, national security and other diplomatic actions
  • Conduct research into issues related to sectors including telecommunications, apparel, agriculture, healthcare and tech
  • Assist in drafting analytical pieces on issues, policies, current events and business trends such as CHIPS Act, US-China audit deal, UFLPA and other congressional development related to China
  • Assist in identifying stakeholders, media and influencers on topics and issues mentioned above
  • Actively participate in brainstorming and team discussions
  • Support media and stakeholder engagement
  • Provide administrative assistance to projects and new business on a limited basis such as translation, data collection, note-taking and credential compilation
  • Other similar duties as assigned
