The main responsibility of the Geotechnical Co-Op intern is to assist senior geotechnical staff with project work involving geotechnical investigations, analysis, design, report preparation, and construction monitoring related to renewable energy and power-related projects.
What qualifications are required for this internship?
Candidates should be enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. program in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, or geological engineering. Knowledge of geotechnical engineering fundamentals and general civil engineering design practices is also required.
Is prior work experience necessary for applying to this position?
Related work experience is a plus but not necessarily required.
What software skills are preferred for this internship?
Proficiency in MS Office is required, and familiarity with slope stability software (GeoStudio), pile design software (LPile), and AutoCAD Civil3D is preferred.
Is travel required for this position?
Yes, the intern should have flexibility to travel/work in the field for extended periods and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
What is the pay range for this internship?
The compensation range for this internship is between USD $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.
Is there a certification requirement for this position?
EIT/FE certification or the ability to obtain certification within one year is preferred.
