What are the primary responsibilities of the Geotechnical Intern?
The primary responsibilities include conducting construction site testing and inspection, performing concrete and soil compaction tests, conducting laboratory soils testing, witnessing and documenting soil borings, preparing inspection and laboratory data reports, and delivering samples and testing equipment as needed.
What qualifications are required for this internship?
Candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, have 0-2 years of experience in Geotechnical engineering, and ideally be on the EIT track. A valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle for site travel are also required.
Is prior experience in Geotechnical engineering necessary?
No prior experience is necessary; however, having up to 2 years of experience is advantageous.
What software skills are preferred for applicants?
Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
