Global Health Internship

Costello Medical
16d ago
London
Description
We will share our skills and knowledge in evidence-based medicine, medical communication and health economics through working together on a specific health problem from your community. Past projects have included:
- Developing a costing model on antimicrobial stewardship in primary care for urinary tract infections in Tunisia
- Conducting a systematic literature review of interventions to improve referral processes for women seeking childbirth care in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Assessing youth-friendly reproductive health services in Malawi
The LSHTM- Costello Medical Global Health Internship will also support your professional development, which we hope will allow you to train other local practitioners in evidence-based medicine after successful completion of the internship. We will provide technical expertise in evidence-based medicine and desk-based research so that you can learn and take these skills back to your community. Specifically, you will gain experience in research, the design and presentation of deliverables and quality control.
You will need to identify and work on a project exploring and tackling a health-related issue relevant to your community; this may involve performing systematic searches of medical literature, assimilating clinical and cost effectiveness evidence, and analysing and creatively presenting data in a variety of formats.
The internship is a fixed-term position, usually for 3 months, which starts in September 2023 at our London Office.
