Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Design, Engineering, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English or equivalent
  • Ability to motivate others with a "do-whatever-it-takes" attitude
  • Self-starter, that excels in time management and work well under stress
  • Critical attributes include exceptional organization, possibly redundant multitasking, and teamwork skills
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop with advanced knowledge of InDesign, Acrobat, MS Office Suite, with expert knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to assist on multiple creative projects with fast turnaround and strict deadlines
  • Excellent command of English grammar and punctuation is required
  • Eager to learn about the proposal process and developing skills to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high-volume environment
  • The position requires attention to detail
  • Must have a basic understanding of typography, color theory, layout, composition, and other graphic design fundamentals
  • Additional Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience with photography
  • Experience with producing and/or designing marketing collateral
  • Ability to sketch and conceptualize ideas into clear and compelling visuals
  • Familiarity with large, production-oriented printers and full-bleed printing

Responsibilities

  • Assist in development of new and re-compete client proposals of various sizes with a focus on RFP/RFI/SOQ* compliance, win strategy, and content development. Support Senior Proposal Managers with higher dollar value or strategic efforts as volume lead or writer.
  • Learn how to take a proposal from start-to-finish including:
  • RFP/RFI/SOQ* understanding and simplification to communicate and lead proposal development teams
  • Writing and editing proposal/marketing narrative
  • Developing and maintaining proposal management tools such as proposal execution plans, compliance matrices, schedules, outlines, storyboards, win themes, action items and spend budgets
  • Working with the capture team to conceptualize and develop strategic win themes and discriminators
  • Collaborating with a team of technical writers, graphic artists, schedulers, estimators, procurement, contracts, and other key proposal staff from kickoff through proposal delivery
  • Leveraging existing archived proposal and graphic information
  • Interviewing technical and program staff to extract critical information
  • Tracking solicitation amendments and modifications
  • Performing quality and compliance checks of proposal sections and volumes
  • Participating in the development of oral presentations including slide concepts and scripting, as needed
  • Closely interacting with capture managers, program and project managers, strategic business unit leaders, technical professionals and contracts/legal to address proposal needs
  • Participate in development of proposals by collaborating with the team on the most effective ways to graphically depict complex processes
  • Update and design unique graphic solutions to visualize technical information
  • Working as part of a larger business development and marketing team to help craft winning solutions to client RFP/RFI/SOQ*, and other sales related pieces
  • Design a variety of collateral such as proposal covers, tabs, timelines, charts, graphs, and other infographics while adhering to the brand style guide
  • Working collaboratively with the creative service team by providing input to the design of proposal graphics and templates, preparing the digital files for production, as well as assisting the Designer and Proposal Managers in assembly and Quality Control of the final product services.
