  • Required Qualifications:
  • Candidates must demonstrate a high interest in one or more of our practice areas. Exceptional candidates will have demonstrated academic and/or professional experience, such as having taken coursework in related fields in law school.

  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in legal research and writing.
  • Prior legal internship or work experience in health care or health insurance plan a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Interns work full-time, hybrid-remote for up to 15 weeks, for at least 35 hours per week, on a broad range of substantive legal areas, and also learn first-hand the practice experience of being in-house counsel working with internal clients in an integrated health insurance and health care delivery system. Interns work on active matters that introduce them to the practice and substance of the law, such as review of various contracts, legal issues pertaining to patient care, and transactions related to health insurance market expansion, as well as research and writing projects which are generally short, focused, and frequently involve novel or complicated issues. CCA attorneys will explain how projects fit into overall legal strategy and provide substantive feedback on work product. This position will work in the Legal Affairs Department supervised by the Vice President & Associate General Counsel.
