What is the duration of the internship?
The internship is a full-year commitment, starting in June each year.
How many hours are expected to be worked during the academic year?
Interns are expected to work 15 to 20 hours a week during the academic year.
How many hours will the intern work during the summer months?
During the summer months, interns will work 40 hours a week over a 12-week period.
Where is the internship located?
The internship is located at the GKN Aerospace facility in El Cajon, CA.
What are the qualifications required for the internship?
Candidates must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Environmental Science, Public Health, Environmental Engineering, or a related program, and have completed their sophomore year or later.
Are we considering applicants from outside the local area?
No, we are only considering local candidates as relocation, work sponsorship, and/or housing is not available.
Is there a requirement for U.S. citizenship?
Yes, U.S. citizenship is required due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.
What skills are preferred for applicants?
Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Applications, possess excellent planning and organization skills, and have effective communication and writing skills.
What is the compensation for the internship?
The compensation range for the internship is between $24.00 - $25.00 per hour.
