Description

  • Merchants Insurance Group, a leading Property and Casualty Insurer in the Northeast, is looking for a highly motivated IT Software Development Intern interested in learning and applying their skills in a corporate capacity. You will be working directly with developers and analysts responsible for delivering products and services on multiple platforms to internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Candidates should be pursuing a related IT degree or career and have practical or theoretical coding experience.
  • An interest in pursuing a career with a property and casualty insurance company is desired.
  • Full-time, paid internship at $17.00 hourly starting May 2024 through August 2024 based on school schedule. A minimum commitment of 2-3 months is required.

Responsibilities

  • Software development activities with the supervision of an experienced developer.
  • Leveraging Microsoft Business Intelligence solutions to provide data analysis and reporting methods. Tools include Microsoft SQL, PowerBI, PowerPivot, and PerformancePoint.
  • Assist in reviewing business requirements and creating technical specifications.
  • Analyze data, evaluate technology, and recommend solutions as assigned.
  • Research projects in the area of DevOps, AI, or other guided technical research.
  • Help create or improve technical documentation. This includes ongoing efforts around an Enterprise Architecture Framework.
