Requirements

  • Excellent Communication Skills:
  • You’ll be collaborating with and representing the team and Parsons to stakeholders, clients, and partners. You’ll need to work with technical and non-technical audiences including senior staff and understand how to tailor messaging to them.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with one or more of:
  • Artificial intelligence, including prompt engineering, large language models and machine learning
  • Digital twins
  • CAD and modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, etc.)
  • Geographic Information System (GIS) and other geospatial technologies
  • Drone operations
  • Software architecture
  • Systems design and integration
  • Data science, business intelligence, and business analytics
  • Design thinking mindset – an understanding of iterative, user-centred design methods and how they can be applied to develop client-focused solutions
  • An unrestricted driver’s license – travel will be required for field work, including to remote sites and Parsons’ offices across southern Ontario

Responsibilities

  • You’ll join the CTO Innovation Group in Infrastructure North America at Parsons, with a dual role supporting the Energy & Environment Sector in the Greater Toronto Region (GTR E&E Team). Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the CTO Innovation Group:
  • Tracking technology trends and conducting market scans for innovations
  • Driving the practical application of emerging technologies in our core infrastructure business
  • Facilitating the adoption and development of new technology capabilities and practices
  • Introducing and optimizing digital processes and automations to enable our project teams to deliver faster and more consistently
  • Establishing and managing relationships with technology vendors and partners
  • Fostering a culture of innovation and transformative thinking
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration between the CTO Innovation Group and the GTR E&E Team to drive innovation and efficiencies
  • Working with the GTR E&E Team:
  • Conducting field work (e.g., groundwater, surface water and soil sampling) using various types of equipment
  • Supporting environmental impact assessments, environmental site assessments and remediations, excess soil management, and environmental compliance projects
  • Assisting project managers and field staff with program execution to ensure work is completed safely in a timely and efficient manner
  • Providing project support including data management and analysis associated with environmental investigations
  • Collaborating with the CTO Innovation Group to apply innovative technologies and practices to environmental projects
  • Exciting initiatives that you may support as part of the CTO Innovation Group include:
  • Conducting artificial intelligence pilots for internal and client use cases
  • Driving the adoption of digital delivery best practices globally across Parsons
  • Coordinating innovation challenges to identify new technologies and partners
  • Researching and preparing business cases for technologies, partnerships, and products
  • Applying data analytics best practices to measure and evaluate return on investments
  • Contributing to client-facing project delivery across different technical domains
