Description
You will join the NQCC’s Innovation team to support our innovation and engagement activities. The role includes the opportunity to work across one or more areas of our innovation activities, which include:
- Communications
- Outreach and public engagement
- Quantum applications and user engagement
For this role, you must be able to work well individually and as part of a team and be interested in quantum science and technology.
Area of Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Supporting work on the NQCC’s external communications, which includes the website, events news and social media, and may involve developing technical content to build public understanding of quantum computing
- Supporting the planning and delivery of outreach events, exhibitions and educational activities
- Producing educational resources on quantum computing for a broad range of audiences and educational levels
- Horizon scanning activities looking at possible quantum computing applications across sectors such as healthcare, aerospace and space
- Preparing case studies and use cases based on the NQCC’s application development activities
Requirements
The role requires someone who can work well as part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team but also demonstrate autonomy once they have been delegated a task to complete. You will be proactive, self-motivated and open to constructive feedback. You require enthusiasm for quantum science and technology and a curiosity to learn new things. You should be able to present your work clearly in a report and have strong presentation and communication skills.

Essential:
- Currently working towards an undergraduate degree and has a demonstrable interest in quantum science and technology (S&I)
- Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the internship (S)
- Good written and oral communication skills (S&I)
- Computer literate with experience in the use of MS Office (S)
- Experience with one or more of the following (S&I):
- Science communication and outreach
- Stakeholder engagement
- Social media content creation
- WordPress content management system (CMS)
- Horizon scanning
- Developing STEM educational resources
- Report writing
Desirable:
- Experience delivering STEM-specific outreach activities (S&I)
- Knowledge of quantum computing or related fields (S&I)
