Placement Program



  • Our Energy team is currently seeking an Engineering Intern for 16 months to join the Pipeline Threats team of our Calgary Integrity group. The primary role is to support Project Engineers/Managers working on Integrity-related projects such as NDE (non-destructive excavation) QA/QC, in-line-inspections (ILIs), trending, and corrosion/material/engineering assessments.


  • Applicants must be available for a minimum of 12 months, up to 16 months.
  • Strong technical proficiency.
  • Sound interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven initiative, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Education and Experience:
  • Enrollment in an engineering discipline: i.e. Mechanical, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Energy, etc.
  • Preference will be given to students who are in or have completed their 3rd year of studies.

  • Complete data analysis for NDE, ILI, and a variety of Integrity inspection programs.
  • Assist in report preparation and assessments.
  • Assist in data integration with reliance on spreadsheets and databases.
  • Utilize applicable technical knowledge to add value to projects.
  • Strengthen technical knowledge through on-the-job, informal, and formal training.
  • Become familiar with and ensure appropriate reference material is utilized.
  • Become familiar with the applicable codes and legislation.
  • Compliance with Stantec’s EH&S program.
  • Establish and maintain positive client relationships.
