Requirements

Enrolled in an accredited US-based university (working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting) with an expected graduation date of Spring 2025
Must be returning to school for at least one quarter or semester after the internship
Have no more than 12 months of professional full-time work experience (excluding internships and research assistant roles)
Must be willing to relocate to San Francisco Bay Area and be available to work in the San Francisco HQ office
Must be attending a US-based university for positions in the USAble to obtain work authorization in the US in 2024
Applied working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures
Demonstrated proficiency in organization, analysis, mathematics, and project management
A forward-thinking and hands-on approach with a desire to learn
Strong knowledge of accounting theory and practice
Proficiency in computer software, including Excel, Word, and various general ledger systems
Knowledge of balance sheets, income statements, and mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios
Nice to Have:
Proficiency in Tableau, SQL, Alteryx, or Excel macros is preferred.

Responsibilities

Apply foundational accounting principles and theories
Contribute to ad-hoc projects focusing on streamlining workflows and implementing new vendor systems
Conduct thorough account reconciliations with attention to detail
Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation
Assist with project management related to month end closing procedures
Prepare or assist in the preparation of reports for management and external auditors
Analyze accounts, journal entries, subsidiary ledgers, and other accounting documents for accuracy and completeness
Produce concise and thorough workpapers that clarify accounting procedures and findings
Assist in developing and preparing analytical and statistical reports to support management decision making
