What is the duration of the internship program?
The internship program runs for 10 weeks from mid-June 2025 through mid-August 2025.
When can I expect the hiring process to begin?
The hiring process will begin mid-November to late December 2024 for the 2025 Summer Intern Program.
What qualifications are required to apply for the internship?
You must be a current college/university student who has completed your Sophomore or Junior year by June 2025, or a current graduate student, and be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment.
Will I need to work evenings and weekends?
Yes, you will need to be available to work during Padres home games and other special events as needed, which may include evenings and weekends.
Is there a minimum physical requirement for the internship?
Yes, you should be able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods during games and events, and you must be able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
What is the hourly pay rate for this internship?
The hourly pay rate for this position is $20.42, in accordance with the California pay transparency law.
Are there any benefits provided with the internship?
Yes, in addition to the hourly rate, the Padres offer PTO, employee discounts, and appreciation and recognition opportunities.
Can I apply if I don't meet all the preferred qualifications?
Yes, we strongly encourage candidates from non-traditional backgrounds and underrepresented groups to apply, even if you're not 100% qualified.
Is bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish required for the internship?
No, it is not required, but being bilingual in English/Spanish is considered a plus.
What kind of experience can I expect from this internship?
You will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of ballpark operations, including Event Operations, Facility Operations, and Guest Experience, among others, as well as networking opportunities throughout the organization.
