Is this internship paid?
This is a non-paid internship, and it is for school credit only.
What qualifications are needed to apply for the internship?
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Master's or Bachelor's program with an emphasis in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or other behavioral health specialties.
Are there any specific skills or attributes sought in applicants?
Yes, applicants should possess a caring and compassionate attitude, be flexible, dependable, and organized. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong presentation skills are highly desired.
Where is the internship located?
The internship is located on Stapley Drive.
What experience is preferred for applicants?
Prior experience working with children is considered a plus.
What will the intern learn during this internship?
Interns will learn to make meaningful relationships with youth, patient assessment skills, treatment interventions, case coordination, and team collaboration.
Is there a requirement for a background check?
Yes, the completion of a pre-student/intern/practicum onboarding process is required, which may include a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
Do applicants need a fingerprint clearance card?
Yes, applicants must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for one within 7 working days of starting the role.
Will interns need to keep notes during their internship?
Yes, student interns are expected to keep detailed notes about the areas of practice and study reinforced during the learning opportunity.
