Requirements

  • Currently registered in a Bachelor’s or Master’s university degree program in a relevant engineering discipline. (required)
  • Upper division (e.g. senior) or Master’s enrollment. (preferred)
  • Degree focus area in civil engineering as it relates to land development design, hydrology and transportation (preferred). Concentrations in environmental or water resources engineering are helpful
  • Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
  • Experience with CADD (AutoDesk, Civil 3D, and Bentley Microstation), ArcView, and/or Microsoft Office. (preferred)
  • Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, oral and written communication and problem-solving skills. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory driving record for business travel to project sites. (required)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with engineering calculations using computer-based technical tools;
  • Develop construction documents (plans), technical writing of reports, letters, memoranda, specifications, and proposals;
  • Data input and analysis, including preparing site plans, GIS mapping, tables, and figures;
  • Follow instructions and interact with engineers, geologists, office administrative staff, CADD operators (draftsmen), contractors and construction personnel; and
  • Potential for limited fieldwork such as site evaluations, soil and groundwater sampling, stormwater inspections, and drilling and contractor oversight.
  • Local travel or driving to project sites as needed.
