The ideal candidate for the Intern, Clinical Genetics Portfolio Analyst position at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. must have a graduate level knowledge of genetics and molecular biology, the ability to comprehend published medical and population genetics research, familiarity with clinical genetic databases, and strong communication skills. They should also have clinical experience with genetic syndromes, prior publication of clinical genetic case reports or primary research, and the ability to collate and analyze data in spreadsheets. Additionally, they should have graduate level coursework in genetics and be an early career or in-training MD, MD/phd, or phd molecular geneticist. They should also be returning to school in the Fall Term or have graduated within the past year and be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

The candidate will review clinical and molecular genetic aspects of diseases, analyze genotype-phenotype correlation, research genetic mechanisms, and develop strategies for patient identification and biomarkers of disease progression and therapeutic response.
