Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors; Advanced degree in Quantitative Finance such as Master of Financial Engineering, Master of Science in Mathematical Finance, Master of Science in Quantitative Finance and Master of Science in Computational Finance
  • Upon completion of this internship candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Coursework or minor in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science or Data and Analytics preferred; coursework or knowledge of Matlab, R, STATA, SAS, SPSS VBA, SQL preferred
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and analysis, statistical sampling, valuation calculations and data manipulation
  • Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access, Power BI), Alteryx, Tableau and similar data analysis and visualization tools
  • Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high quality work
  • Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation
  • Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with valuing a wide range of complex financial instruments and OTC derivatives for financial reporting, tax and transaction advisory purposes
  • Apply option pricing methods (such as Monte Carlo simulation, lattice models, Black-Scholes) in valuations of convertible and callable debt; interest rate, currency and commodity derivatives, contingent payments, warrants and other share-based awards with market conditions; preferred investments; and SPAC related instruments such as sponsor shares and private warrants
  • Help analyze equity and debt financial market data and history using various quantitative techniques (including regressions and machine learning algorithms) and derive statistics based on transaction data
  • Review purchase agreements, credit and derivative contracts and perform market research in order to capture salient points to be used for financial modeling purposes
