Requirements

Qualifications We Require:
You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
Earned bachelor's degree
Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
Ability to independently obtain authorization to work lawfully in the US for Sandia National Laboratories. Sandia will not sponsor work authorization for this position.
Qualifications We Desire:
Working towards a Ph.D. in electrical engineering with a focus on electric power systems
Strong programming skills (e.g., MATLAB, Python, etc.)
Real-time digital simulation experience (e.g., Opal-RT),

Responsibilities

On any given day, you may be called on to:
Design new control approaches for improving the value of energy storage in distribution networks
Develop new methods for employing energy storage to perform system identification in distribution networks
Develop approaches for placing and sizing energy storage in distribution networks
