Requirements

  • Qualifications We Require:
  • You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
  • Earned bachelor's degree
  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • Ability to independently obtain authorization to work lawfully in the US for Sandia National Laboratories. Sandia will not sponsor work authorization for this position.
  • Qualifications We Desire:
  • Working towards a Ph.D. in electrical engineering with a focus on electric power systems
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., MATLAB, Python, etc.)
  • Real-time digital simulation experience (e.g., Opal-RT),

Responsibilities

  • On any given day, you may be called on to:
  • Design new control approaches for improving the value of energy storage in distribution networks
  • Develop new methods for employing energy storage to perform system identification in distribution networks
  • Develop approaches for placing and sizing energy storage in distribution networks
