What is the primary purpose of the Engineering Internship at Triumph Actuation Products & Services – Clemmons?
The primary purpose of the internship is to provide college-level students with practical experience related to their major in engineering, enhancing and complementing their classroom learning.
What departments will the intern rotate through during the internship?
The intern will rotate through the design, analysis, and engineering test departments.
What kind of activities can be expected in the design department?
In the design department, activities may include completing minor drawing revisions, document/report review and writing, supporting failure investigations, and updating various department databases and metrics files, depending on the intern's experience.
Will there be hands-on experience in the test department?
Yes, the intern can expect hands-on experience with developing and setting up hydraulic test setups, including circuit design, plumbing installation, hooking up and checking out various sensors.
What are the educational requirements for this internship?
Applicants must be currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited program for a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering and have completed their sophomore year of college.
Are there any specific skills required for this internship?
Yes, candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills in English, experience with CAD tools (e.g., ProE/Creo), and experience in test programs (e.g., DasyLab, LabView).
What is the physical requirement for the internship?
Interns must be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs.
