Requirements

  • Qualifications We Require:
  • You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
  • Earned bachelor's degree
  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited related graduate program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Note: If you have not yet started your graduate program, please apply to an undergraduate intern position.
  • Qualifications We Desire:
  • Pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Sciences, Management Information Systems, or other relevant STEM disciplines.
  • Some working knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, JavaScript, Python), scripting languages (SQL, Linq, Oracle), reporting development (Posit/RShiny, SQL Server Reporting Server, Tableau, PowerBI or others), and/or web application development (HTML, .NET Core or others), databases (SQL, PL/SQL or others).
  • Knowledge and experience in software development methodologies and techniques.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with a work ethic in alignment with Sandia’s values.
  • Experience with software testing, experience writing requirements, testing, and qualification plans.
  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Work on teams that focus on the research, development and innovation of software and data analytics solutions.
  • Assist staff developers and architects who specialize in an array of technology stacks.
  • Perform updates to applications, provide customer support, create reports and/or visualizations (various COTS, including SSRS, Tableau, PowerBi, Oracle, SQL Server, SharePoint, etc.), and conduct analysis/reporting of various types of data.
  • Participate in team environments via structured development lifecycles.
