Requirements

  • The Candidate must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or must be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university.
  • Background in communications, public relations, events, or non-profit work will be an advantage.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills, strong communication and the ability to multitask and be courteous to all guests attending events.
  • Remain calm under pressure and make decisions with maturity and sound judgment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent project coordination skills, organization skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure and handle stress.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Drive, etc.) is essential.
  • Knowledge of or interest in international development will be an advantage.
  • Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
  • Must have a personal laptop computer and access to the Internet.
  • Must be available to work a maximum of 29 hours per week.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Support the events team in the development, planning, and execution of virtual roundtables and webinars.
  • Support the planning for UNF’s annual signature events and summer board meeting.
  • Support registration and other on-site logistics for in-person events at the DC office.
  • Support the Sr. Manager of International Engagement and Advance with international trip planning and execution, including passport collection, visa processing, and preparing briefing materials.
  • Manage the events team intake form and schedule kick-off calls.
  • Create event registration pages and manage guest communications through online system Splash.
  • Project manage internal room booking and reservation support in DC office.
  • Assist in communications involving event management including BEOs, timelines, calendars, reports, diagrams, etc.
  • Support the Global Events Coordinator in the creation and management of events-related contracts.
