Responsibilities

  • Provide overall support in reporting to ensure compliance with IFRS 17, the new insurance contracts accounting standard, and assist with related projects as directed by our parent company, Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited
  • Assist in the preparation of balance sheets and income statements in accordance with IFRS 17 guidelines
  • Help with reconciliations between IFRS 4 (previous insurance contracts standard) and IFRS 17
  • Assistance with the preparation of files for the overhead expense allocation process
  • Aid in preparing the President’s Report which documents and highlights the most significant events that occurred for the quarter
  • Aid in gathering and organizing materials for IFRS 17 audit documentation
  • Help in updating critical support documents for IFRS 17
  • Support testing activities related to system changes or process updates
