Description

Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will work with 4 residents in anaesthesia and analgesia and receive direct training and supervision from our 5 ECVAA/ACVAA Diplomates, 4 post-residency clinicians and 6 dedicated anaesthesia nurses.
- The successful candidate will benefit from both a busy and dynamic clinical environment and formal training. The intern will work under the supervision of a veterinary anaesthesia specialist or a resident and it is expected to participate in the out of hours anaesthesia provision as “second on call’ alongside a senior anaesthesist or an anaesthesia resident.
- Interns will participate in hospital rounds, journal clubs, book clubs and are encouraged to attend continuing professional development sessions provided by senior members of staff and to be enrolled in research. Belonging to Linnaeus, there will also be a large amount of teaching and research resources.
Requirements
- Applicants to the program will be selected on the basis of their written application (CV and covering letter), reference letters (2) and an interview. Applicants should have ideally a 12-month rotating internship, some years of experience in small animal practice would be beneficial. The candidate must be eligible to work in the UK, be member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons or be eligible.
- The successful candidate will be expected to start as soon as possible (exact date to be discussed). This is one year fixed term position.
- The successful candidate may have the opportunity to become an ECVAA Resident in Anaesthesia and Analgesia after successful completion of the internship at DWR.
