What type of educational background is required for this internship?
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Master's Program with an emphasis in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or other behavioral health specialties.
Where is the internship located?
The internship is located at the Campbell Ave Health Center, 3385 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719.
What are the internship hours?
The internship hours are Tuesday through Friday from 5 PM to 8 PM, and Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM.
What kinds of tasks will the intern be performing?
Interns will support clinical activities such as assessments, treatment plan updates, group facilitation, individual therapeutic interventions, and case management.
Is supervision provided during the internship?
Yes, the intern will be supervised by a qualified Terros Health professional.
What skills should applicants possess?
Applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as familiarity with NextGen EHR systems.
Is there a requirement for a criminal background check?
Yes, completion of the pre-student/Intern/Practicum onboarding process includes a criminal background check at the discretion of Terros Health.
Do applicants need a fingerprint clearance card?
Yes, applicants must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for one within 7 working days of starting the role.
What will the intern learn during the internship?
Upon completion of the program, the intern will have learned to conduct assessments, update treatment plans, facilitate group and individual therapy, and manage cases for client engagement and re-engagement in treatment.
Are there any specific attributes that the ideal applicant should have?
The ideal applicant should be able to engage with the Terros Health management team, maintain professional boundaries, and possess a willingness to learn clinical skills to engage clients professionally.
