The internship is located in Los Angeles, CA.
When does the internship start and end?
The internship will start in approximately May/June and end in August/September.
What kind of tasks will the intern be performing?
The intern will perform entry-level engineering assignments, which may include materials engineering support for propulsion hardware design and fabrication, selection of materials, calculation of design allowables, performance of material properties testing, chemical analysis testing, and generating technical reports and presentations.
What qualifications are required for this internship?
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Material Science, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Chemistry, or a similar major, and must be returning to school upon completion of the assignment.
What GPA is preferred for applicants?
A preferred GPA of 3.2 or above is required.
Is there a preference for the class standing of applicants?
Yes, junior standing or above is preferred.
What software skills are beneficial for this internship?
The ability to perform statistical analysis of data in Microsoft Excel is beneficial, and experience with data mining is also preferred.
Will the intern be supervised during their assignments?
Yes, the intern will perform assignments under the direct supervision of other engineers following established procedures and policies.
