Requirements

  • Pursuing a BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Additional proficiencies in PowerPoint, AutoCAD, CAD data models, and computational fluid dynamic modeling are a plus.
  • Engineering knowledge, skills and experience should include familiarity with all applicable HVAC, plumbing and fire protection codes, energy code knowledge and design impact assessment, interdisciplinary coordination, LEED credit applications as they apply to mechanical design, specification organization and writing, and engineering economics proficiency.
  • Strong communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities and a willingness to work in a team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • The Mechanical Engineer Intern will be responsible for supporting HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (FP) assignments and projects within heavy industrial environments. Types of facilities include wastewater, water treatment, and pumping facilities.
  • Design responsibilities include support of mechanical contract drawing and specification drawing for a wide variety of water infrastructure projects.
  • Additional responsibilities include: supporting control systems designs and specifications, mechanical trouble shooting, cost-estimating.
