Requirements

  • Qualifications We Require:
  • You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
  • Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S.
  • Qualifications We Desire:
  • Full-time undergraduate student in biology, environmental science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • Local to ASU’s Polytechnic Campus in Mesa, AZ
  • Desire to gain hands-on scientific research skills in the field of algal biofuels
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated success working independently as well as part of a team
  • Entry-level or higher knowledge of Matlab programming language
  • Experience with data analysis and/or signal processing
  • Willingness to travel infrequently to Sandia’s Albuquerque NM site for training

Responsibilities

  • Checking performance of spectral sensors
  • Calibrating spectral sensors
  • Preprocessing and analyzing spectral sensor data
  • Preparing experimental results for presentation to the research team
  • The selected applicant must reside near Mesa, AZ.
