  • Qualifications We Require:
  • You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
  • Earned bachelor's degree
  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S.
  • Qualifications We Desire:
  • Experience with artificial intelligence, computational imaging, and machine learning
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulations ( commercial softwares such as Lumerical, Comsol etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to think at a systems level, recognizing how components and subsystems impact one another
  • Experience with the capabilities, use, and application of MATLAB®, Simulink®, Python™, C/C++, or other modern programming languages
  • Experience in technical software development
  • Experience with prototyping, mechanisms, controls, sensors, modeling and simulation, software/hardware integration

Responsibilities

  • The intern will perform conceptualization, design, analysis, design definition, fabrication oversight, assembly/integration of photonic integrated circuits all within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, team-focused environment. The intern may need to travel to support program interactions and system integration activities at partner locations. The intern will work as a fully integrated member of a highly skilled team in one or more of these critical disciplines listed below based on the skills and interests:
  • Nanophotonics and computation imaging
  • Silicon photonics
  • Nanofabrication and system co-design.
  • This student will work on-site in our Albuquerque, NM laboratories durring the summer.
