Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in a STEM field. Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Programming experience
  • Experience working safely in a laboratory setting
  • Strong organizational skills/abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong self-initiative and self-responsibility
  • Ability to contribute in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Support development of more efficient test protocols for high reliability components, leveraging industry and academic surveys and benchmarking
  • Learn and assist with data collection and analysis, record keeping, and communication of experimental results.
  • Utilize lab instruments including, but not limited to, load-frames, thermal chambers, microscopes, and electrical test equipment
  • Explore improving testing methodology using creativity and peer feedback
  • Demonstrate independence to own/work on self-project
  • The position would best suit a student pursuing a materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a similar STEM undergraduate degree.
