Requirements

  • Must be pursing an undergraduate degree, currently in the Junior year or first semester of senior year. Preferred areas of study are biology, immunology.
  • Previous cell culture wet lab experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both in a team setting and independently
  • Experience with word, excel, and PowerPoint presentation a plus

Responsibilities

  • Train on lab basics: safety, pipetting, assays/instruments, etc.
  • Review relevant scientific concepts: Cell line culture, mRNA structure and function, mRNA transfection, ELISA, etc.
  • Perform a guided cell-based assay experiment.
  • Perform an additional independent cell-based assay experiment/analysis.
  • Once proficiency has been demonstrated, screen a manageable number of novel modified mRNAs.
  • Prepare and deliver a presentation summarizing findings to the R&D team.
