Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce, Master’s in Finance or Accounting or an MBA, or in Economics, Engineering, Architecture, or Urban Planning with adequate financial knowledge.  
  • High academic achievement 
  • High proficiency in Excel and financial modelling; Knowledge of ARGUS software is an asset 
  • Interest for real estate investments and knowledge of real estate market information sources is an asset  
  • Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy 
  • Effective communications skills, both written and verbal 
  • Attention to detail and rigorous approach to research, analysis, and documentation 
  • Eagerness to learn, ideate, and innovate 
  • Drive to pursue excellence and challenge the status quo to seek out alternative perspectives 
  • Currently enrolled in CFA program is an asset 
  • Must return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculum
  • Good communications skills in English and French (or willingness to learn) *Regular interactions in English with investment partners based outside of Quebec Example: peers, bankers, brokerage firms, etc. and PSP employees in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa..
  • Candidates must have the right to work in Canada* for the period specified  to be considered for this position.  No support to obtain the right to work will be provided.
  • *Options include Canadian citizenship, permanent residency or a valid open work permit.   

Responsibilities

  • As an Intern, Real Estate Investments, you will:    
  • Participate and support the analysts and other Real Estate Investment team members in active management of PSP Investments’ real estate portfolio 
  • Support analysts and other members of the team in the analysis (financial modeling, economic, feasibility, other) and presentation of potential real estate transactions across various real estate asset classes and structures (residential, office, industrial, retail, joint ventures, funds, other) 
  • Participate and support the analysts and other members of the team during the due diligence process 
  • Provide assistance to the analysts with collecting information and updating the real estate Investment team’s database 
  • Provide assistance to the analysts in researching, synthesizing and analyzing data on various real estate markets
