Requirements

  • Earned bachelor's degree
  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Note: If you have not yet started your graduate program, please apply to an undergraduate intern position.
  • Qualifications We Desire:
  • Laboratory and/or computational research experience
  • Experience in communicating scientific results through writing and presenting posters and/or presentations
  • Completion of some college courses in biology, chemistry, computer science, or physics

Responsibilities

  • Perform DNA sequencing and/or gene-editing
  • Carry out molecular/immunoassays/separations (e.g. rt-PCR, ELISA, agarose gels)
  • Perform histology/staining/imaging
  • Culture cells and purify proteins
  • Use technology/instrumentation (e.g. custom microfluidic systems, LC/MS, FPLC, flow-cytometry)
  • Analyze experimental data and present results to the team
  • Throughout your internship, you will learn laboratory skills and join a high-performing research team. Students will be expected to demonstrate increasing levels of independence and responsibility and must show a commitment to operate in and contribute to a safe operating environment.
