Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on transportation engineering.
  • Strong academic record with coursework in transportation planning and design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and other engineering design tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Knowledge of environmental and sustainability considerations in transportation engineering is a plus.
  • Previous internship or coursework related to transportation engineering is preferred

Responsibilities

  • The work typically involves basic CADD work using Microstation and rudimentary design assignments such as establishing horizontal alignments, setting grades, detailing and quantity takeoff’s for project features. These features usually include roadway, drainage, traffic control, signage, signals, structure and other miscellaneous type improvements. Close supervision is typically required and frequent mentoring is provided to properly develop proper engineering skills. The ability to work within a team is paramount.
