Description

  • TYLin is seeking a Transportation Planning Intern to join our TYLin | Sam Schwartz City Solutions team. This opportunity is a hybrid role based in Chicago.
  • We are seeking a passionate student to join our interdisciplinary team of consultants (planning, urban design, transportation engineering) to work on a range of planning projects. Projects that may include corridor studies, bike and pedestrian plans, emerging mobility research and communitywide multi-modal transportation plans.

Requirements

  • Working towards an Urban Planning, Urban Design, Public Policy, or related Master’s or PhD program
  • Experience using GIS Mapping software (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online)
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and InDesign) preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required
  • Ability to present ideas, projects and solutions in a polished and professional manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work on-site and non-standard business hours occasionally, must be able to travel to project sites
