Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce, with a focus in Finance or Accounting
  • Pursuit of professional designations (CFA, CBV, CPA, CA), an asset
  • Superior level of proficiency with business software and analytical tools
  • Demonstrated initiative and curiosity to look beyond surface facts and conduct comprehensive, fact-based, value-added research
  • Attention to detail and rigorous approach to research, analysis and documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively, cultivating meaningful relationships with colleagues
  • Must return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculum
  • Proficiency in English and French (or willingness to learn) (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
  • Candidates must have the right to work in Canada* for the period specified to be considered for this position. No support to obtain the right to work will be provided.
  • *Options include Canadian citizenship, permanent residency or a valid open work permit.

Responsibilities

  • As an Intern, Valuation Governance, you’ll:
  • Support members of the Valuation Governance team with the planning and execution of the quarterly valuation process
  • Participate in the development and/or validation of financial models related to investments and analyze the impact of different assumptions on the valuation
  • Update and analyze comparable company multiples and metrics
  • Participate in the analysis of industry trends and help monitor market events and analyze the impact that these events may have on investment valuations
  • Assist with the preparation of summary memorandum
  • Perform any other duties, as required
