What qualifications are required to apply for the International Pharmacy Intern position?
Applicants must be foreign graduates from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy and must possess or be in the process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
How long do I have to complete my internship hours?
US Non-Accredited Foreign Graduates are required to successfully complete their internship within 18 months.
What happens if I do not obtain my Pharmacist licensure within the specified timeframe?
Failure to complete the required US intern hours within 18 months or to obtain Pharmacist licensure within 120 days of completing the required US internship hours will result in separation of employment.
What type of training will I receive during the internship?
You will undergo a mixed modality learning plan under the direction of a preceptor, which includes hands-on experience, training roadmap, Key Learning Experiences (KLEs), and time spent with leaders in your district.
Am I allowed to administer immunizations during my internship?
Yes, if you complete the additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status as per state regulations, you may support administering vaccines.
Is prior experience in pharmacy necessary to apply for this position?
While it is not mandatory, having 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
Can I work at different locations during my internship?
Yes, you may be required to voluntarily travel to different stores in the market to work shifts as needed by the business.
