Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Engineering Management, Computer Science or a related field
  • Working knowledge of SQL, and relational database systems
  • Comfort with a scripting language (e.g., Python) and dashboard data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel)
  • A good understanding of relational databases and database engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with data pipelines and a Workflow Management Tool (e.g., Airflow) is desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Eagerness to collaborate cross-functionally with other business and engineering teams, while able to work independently
  • Organized, detail-oriented, execution-focused, relentless and willing to find cracks in the system to expose problems
  • Previous experience in: Data Analysis, Product/Project Management on Software applications, or Supply Chain Purchasing/Industrial Engineering experience

Responsibilities

  • Create and/or enhance action-driven dashboards (e.g., using Tableau)
  • Optimize current Tableau dashboard queries so they consume less server resources and result in faster load time for end-users. This could include searching for better server/database alternative and rewriting the equivalent-query
  • Perform ongoing check of internal dashboards, to make sure they are still up to date
  • Support ad hoc data, SQL query, analysis, and debugging requests from cross-functional stakeholders
  • Create/maintain internal dashboard documentation and define key metrics to track success or prioritize features
  • Communicate with stakeholders, gather business requirements
  • Work on standardization of our dashboards (including building tutorials and ensuring there is proper documentation)
  • Translate requirements of large data initiatives into smaller actionable items
  • Champion data literacy within the organization and drive adoption rates
  • Collaborate with Training expert to develop user-training to dashboard

When does the internship start and how long does it last?

The internship is expected to start around May 2025 and continue through the Summer term (approximately August 2025) or into Fall 2025 if available.

What is the minimum duration and work schedule required for the internship?

We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.

Are international students eligible to apply for this internship?

Yes, international students can apply; however, they should consult their school about their ability to work 40 hours per week on-site, particularly if their work authorization is through CPT.

What locations are available for this internship?

The internship is available at multiple locations, including Fremont, CA; Lathrop, CA; Palo Alto, CA; and Austin, TX.

What type of projects will interns be involved in?

Interns will work on strategic projects and continuous improvement efforts within the Supply Chain Optimization team, focusing on data analytics and insight generation.

What skills and knowledge are required for the internship?

Candidates should have a working knowledge of SQL, comfort with a scripting language like Python, experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Excel, and a good understanding of relational databases and database engineering concepts.

Will there be training provided during the internship?

Yes, interns will collaborate with a Training expert to develop user-training for dashboards and will also help champion data literacy within the organization.

What kind of compensation and benefits can interns expect?

Interns can expect a compensation range of $16.35 - $37.02/hour, plus benefits such as medical plans, dental and vision coverage, 401(k), employee stock purchase plans, and more.

Is prior experience in data analysis or supply chain management required?

While previous experience in data analysis, product/project management on software applications, or supply chain purchasing/industrial engineering is desirable, it is not explicitly required.
