What is the expected duration of the internship?
The internship is expected to start in May 2025 and continue through the entire Summer term, with a minimum commitment of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site. Interns may also continue into Fall 2025 if available.
Are international students eligible to apply for this internship?
Yes, international students can apply; however, they should consult their school regarding work authorization through CPT and their ability to work 40 hours per week on-site.
What is the primary focus of the Energy EE team?
The Energy EE team focuses on designing electronic systems for Tesla's Vehicle & Optimus charging and residential/industrial energy storage products, including central processing boards, communication systems, and safety circuits.
What kinds of projects will interns be involved in?
Interns will be involved in projects that support the design and development of digital and analog electronic PCBAs, as well as system-level designs for energy products, including testing and validation.
What qualifications are required for this internship?
Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or a related field, and have experience with tools like Altium, LTspice, Matlab, and Python, along with hands-on PCB design experience.
What types of circuits will interns work with?
Interns will work with switching power supplies, LDOs, analog sense circuits, MCU and digital circuits, as well as communications protocols like CAN, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, RS485, and high voltage circuits.
