Requirements

  • Other relevant work experience, including field work and use of environmental sampling/monitoring equipment, a plus.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong technical writing ability
  • Spoken and written fluency in English.
  • Highly motivated and work well in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet software, and databases preferred.
  • Degree / Certifications:
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate environmental science, geology, environmental engineering, or related program.
  • 40-Hour OSHA training a plus.

Responsibilities

  • The selected candidate will learn the general principles of environmental consulting and develop skills related to their program of study. The intern will work approximately 40 hours per week this summer and will have the opportunity to work on projects in a variety of areas in environmental consulting including environmental engineering, natural resource management, disaster management planning, and hazardous waste management. Specific tasks would include data management and organization, data analysis, environmental sampling/monitoring equipment calibration and maintenance, and report writing and compilation. Opportunities for environmental field work with appropriate training also possible. Tetra Tech will pay for the individuals 40-hour HAZWOPER class.
  • At the end of the internship, the intern is expected to present his/her internship experience to the office.
